We would like to thank Viviana and her classmates for
showing an interest in the ghosts and history of the Hotel
Colorado. We wish them the best of luck with their class
project and encourage them to continue their research
of the paranormal. We would also like to thank the Hotel
Colorado staff for allowing us to conduct the tour!
CCPI's Co-Founder, Clarissa meets with students
from the Roaring Fork High School to point out
areas of heightened Paranormal activity at the
Hotel Colorado.
Clarissa's son diligently monitors the Osun EMF
meter while walking with Mom and the High
School students at the Hotel Colorado.

and areas of heightened paranormal activity, based on our September 16
investigation. Due to time and daycare issues Clarissa's son
accompanied the tour. Having never been on an investigation with Mom,
he was curious about all of the gadgets and gizmos Clarissa was showing
the students. He was given an Osun EMF meter to play with while the tour
was being conducted. The Osun meter operates with three LED's that
give the EMF range based on the color. A green light indicates EMF
fluctuations from 0-2.5 milli gauss, yellow indicates 2.5 - 8 milli gauss, and
red indicates an EMF range of 8 milli gauss or higher. For the majority of
the tour, the green indicator light was the only one to light up.
Please note that children are discouraged from participating in
investigations for safety and ethical reasons. The fact that this tour
was intended to be an information lecture is the ONLY reason a 5
year old was permitted to accompany the tour!
An Interesting Discovery

While walking on the fourth floor of the hotel, Clarissa pointed out the room
where "Florence", a chamber maid was murdered by a jealous lover while
the hotel was being used as a Naval hospital during WWII. The room in
which she died has had so much activity, it can no longer be rented and
now serves as a storage room. At approximately 17:25 hours, as the group
began to walk away from the
room, everyone began to smell a very
strong odor, similar to the smell of
burning hair. An excited voice began to
announce, "The yellow light is on, Mom!"
The group quickly looked around to see
if they could find the source of the
burning smell, but could find nothing.
Clarissa got out her Cell Sensor EMF
meter, which quickly gave a reading of
2.5 - 3 mG within the vicinity of the
storage room. Producing her RCA
Digital Voice Recorder, Clarissa
attempted to communicate with
"Florence" and asked for a sign to prove
the spirit of the chamber maid was
among them. There were several static
interruptions on the recording, but
nothing that could be considered EVP.
On Saturday, November 25, 2006 while reading the Glenwood Post Independent, Clarissa observed a Letter
to the Editor requesting information on the hauntings of the Historic Hotel Colorado. A young woman named
Viviana was doing a report for her Foxfire class at the Roaring Fork High School on the hotel. Clarissa
contacted Viviana and agreed to meet her and a few of her classmates at the hotel to point historical locations
